A Harder Slab That Stops Shedding Dust

Bare concrete wears. Over time the top layer of cement paste turns soft and chalky, and every forklift, cart and pair of boots grinds a little more of it into fine gray dust that settles on tools, stock and vehicles. ARMOVEX Dust Control is a water-clear dust proofer that soaks into that weak top layer and hardens it from within, locking the loose particles back into a dense, tight surface.

Nothing is left sitting on top. There is no shine, no film to scuff off and no coating to maintain, so the slab keeps its plain concrete look while it gains abrasion resistance and becomes easier to sweep and keep clean. It is UV stable and non-yellowing, and the cured surface accepts coatings if you decide to cover the floor later.

Prep

1. Sweep, then vacuum the slab to pull up loose dust and powdery laitance so the product reaches sound concrete.
2. Remove oil, grease, paint, old sealers and anything else that would block absorption.
3. If you pressure wash, give the slab at least 24 hours to dry.
4. Cover glass, metal and nearby finishes against overspray.
5. Spray a small test patch. It should soak in readily; if it beads up, the surface still needs cleaning.

Application

1. Coat 1: spray evenly at 400 sq ft per gallon with a pump or airless sprayer until the surface is fully wet, without puddles.
2. Let coat 1 dry to the touch. Fans help indoors.
3. Coat 2: spray again at 400 sq ft per gallon, giving extra attention to worn, thirsty areas.
4. If any spot of coat 2 dries in under 15 minutes, keep re-applying there until it stays saturated for at least 15 minutes.
5. Wash tools and sprayer right away with warm, soapy water. Return to traffic once the floor is dry.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this stop my floor from dusting?

Dust Control hardens the weak, powdery surface layer so the slab sheds far less dust under traffic. Results depend on how worn the slab is, so treat a small test area first.

Does it make the floor shiny or slippery?

No. It goes into the concrete instead of forming a coating, so there is no gloss and skid resistance is not reduced.

How much product do I need?

Plan on 2 coats at 400 sq ft per gallon per coat. A 400 sq ft floor needs about 2 gallons in total (1 gallon for each coat).

What if parts of the second coat soak in fast?

Those are the most porous, dustiest spots. If any area of the second coat dries in under 15 minutes, keep re-applying there until it stays wet for at least 15 minutes.

Can I use it in an occupied building?

Yes. Dust Control is Zero VOC, solvent-free and non-hazardous, and it is GREENGUARD Gold certified. Tools clean up with warm, soapy water.

Can I paint or coat the floor later?

Yes. The hardened surface accepts paints and floor coatings. Call us and we will recommend a system for your slab.
